It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Happy Holidays!  We are in full holiday mode and the elves have been busy bringing lots of treats to put under your tree.  One of our new favorites is the houndstooth bike seat covers from Pijama, made in Milan.

We love our local artists

Burlington-based artist Recycle Moe dropped off new work recently and there are some real treasures in this group. She creates up-cycled products ranging from switch plates to spiral bound notebooks. One of my favorite pieces is a pocket sized notebook sandwiched between two floppy disks. So clever and adorable. She also re-purposes discarded children's book illustrations into magnets. The sense of nostalgia that her work brings to our customers is so unique and heart warming. They make wonderful gifts and are super affordable, a majority of her work is priced under $10. For more ideas check out Recycle Moe's website here, which one is your favorite?

Happy 4th birthday trinket!

I can't believe that 4 years have gone by already.  Trinket continues to be such a joy and a great place to express creativity.  One of my favorite additions continues to be the quirky cards that we carry.  I think of it as paying homage to our friend Scribbles (a local shop that closed awhile back).

Here's to a great year ahead! x

Celebrating the artisans

We are fortunate enough to work with some amazing artists - some local and some from far off places.  Let's take some time to explore some of their worlds and creations.

This is a waxed canvas tote from Peg and Awl - my latest obsession.  I love that the husband and wife team started by making things for themselves out of found and reclaimed materials and then by demand made them for others.

"Waxed canvas originated in the sailing industry in Scotland in the 1920s and became widely used in sportswear and apparel because of its waterproofing abilities and superb durability. The Waxed Canvas Tote from Peg and Awl boasts the permanence of this wonder-material while also incorporating vintage fabric lined-pockets, reclaimed leather straps and closures (from antique gun holsters and saddles,) brass rivets and Sam Browne buttons. This is the holy grail in unisex carryall totes, practical and perfect in every way."

I am a total bag freak.  I love clutches, envelope bags, big slouchy bags... but I have to say that tote bags are by far my favorite.  The only thing holding me back from this bag is that I know it will be the tote bag to end all other tote bags.  It is perfection.
